14 NEWS MILDURA WEEKLY FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2015 A MEMORABLE photograph on the cover of an even more memorable book has been re-lived, with Irymple Rotar- ian Vince Congiusta, 58, ex- plaining the cover shot aspartofa ‘show and tell’ at a club meeting. Vince was just 24, and in his first year of teach- ing at Irymple in 1981 when a photograph was taken of him entering the water feet first af- ter a somersault dive off the three-metre springboard at Mildura Olympic Pool. Vince wasn’t aware at the time that 100 of the world’s greatest photo-journalists had been given the job of shooting ‘A Day in the Life of Australia,’ and one of them, Arnaud De Wilden- berg, was given Mildura as his shoot location. • Continued Page 16 ADayin the Life of Australia The 1981 idea was a bold one.
