Program unveiled for 2015 Sunraysia Multicultural Festival • CULTURAL DIVERSITY ON SHOW: Mildura residents Ece Sanatipour, Nurdan Oktay, Yesim Sairitoprak and Canan Kandemir formed part of a special Turkish performance held at last year’s Sunraysia Multicultural Festival, with similar events planned for this year’s event. MERBEIN residents are being encouraged to “look to the future” and learn more about a four-year plan that outlines “the way for- ward” for their community. The Merbein Community Plan 2014- 2019 was finalised last year following input from more than 500 Merbein locals, and sets objectives identified by the community that aim to make Merbein “a wonderful place to live, work and play.” Key themes within the plan include com- munity connectedness, events, sport and recreation, infrastructure, environment and safety and access. Mildura Rural City Community Devel- opment and Safety Portfolio Councillor, Ali Cupper, said the Merbein Community Plan 2014-2019 was the second forward-thinking document developed by Merbein residents, with the first document completed in 2008. Copies of the plan are available online at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/communityplans, or contact Community Futures at Council on 5018 8100.
