The aim of the project is to deliver a robust set of guidelines to ensure that development is designed to reflect, enhance and respond to the desired visual, cultural and built character of the Avenue. The outcome of this project is to integrate with the continuing proposed landscape works for the Avenue’s median in accordance with the Deakin Avenue Master Plan 2006. Three stages are proposed including the Key Issues Report (KIR), the Strategic Vision and Objectives (SVO), leading finally to the preparation of the Urban Design Guidelines (UDG). As part of Stage1, Council invites you to contribute with issues or ideas associated with the Avenue. Contributions are welcomed via an online survey or by returning the feedback form available online at www.mildura.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay Name and contact details are required for Council to consider these contributions and to notify you of the opportunity to attend Council meetings and any other consultation sessions. The closing date for contributions of ideas or issues is Wednesday 10 June 2015. All contributions will be acknowledged. Internal Audit Committee Membership – Expressions Of Interest Council is seeking expressions of interest from people with a broad range of skills to act as an external representative on its Internal Audit Committee. Appointment is for a term of three years. A formally appointed Committee of Council, the Audit Committee reports to Council and provides appropriate advice and recommendations on matters relevant to its Charter, in order to facilitate decision making by Council in relation to the discharge of its responsibilities. The Committee pursues Best Practice Guidelines for Audit Committees and Internal Audit. Council is committed to establishing and supporting the primary objectives of the Committee, which are to assist Council in the effective conduct of its responsibilities for financial reporting, management of risk, internal controls and ethical development. An appropriate remuneration, set by Council, is to be paid to each member of the Committee, reflecting the importance Council places in establishing an effective Audit Committee. The Committee meets bi-monthly. Due to the confidential nature of some issues dealt with by the Audit Committee, the successful member will be required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
