Mildura Weekly : Friday January 15 Vol 10 No 10
12 NEWS MILDURA WEEKLY FRIDAY, JANUARY 15, 2016 By ALEXANDRA TRELOAR IT has taken just five months for Mildura residents to be- come addicted to ‘House of Bounce’ – an indoor tram- poline centre that has be- come the latest craze over the school holidays. Owner and manager of House of Bounce, Dean For- syth, is happy with the re- sponse to his new business, seeing close to 500 people each day come through the doors following its opening. “A lot of parents and families think it’s a great place where they can bring their kids and let off some steam, and the report we normally get is that the kids sleep well after,” he said. The facility has 36 flat- bed trampolines, including a high performance Olym- pic trampoline, slam dunk basketball trampoline, a foam pit trampoline and a dodgeball court. Dean said he created House of Bounce in an at- tempt to keep up with Aus- tralian and global trends. “We are a family-owned business, not a franchise, and Mildura is always screaming out for more ac- tivities, so we’ve provided one and have had a pretty good response so far,” he said. “The first three months were crazy, we were close to having sold out sessions ev- ery day.” Dean said that while the weather does determine how many people come through House of Bounce, the facility still attracts 200 to 300 people despite tem- peratures warming up. As for who the centre caters for, Dean believes that as long as people are fit and able to do the activity, House of Bounce is for everyone. “We recommend people from three-years-old can do it, we even had a few ladies in their 60s that came in one day,” he said. A maximum of 50 peo- ple per session are allowed at House of Bounce in order to keep the activity safe, with sessions available to book online in advance. House of Bounce has extended its hours for the school holidays, and is open Monday to Thursday from 10am to 8pm, Friday from 10am to 9pm, Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
