Oncology Massage (medical massage) is a specialised from of remedial massage that is very gentle and profoundly relaxing. It is individualised for every person, taking into account all the complexities of cancer treatment, with the therapist adjusting the massage treatments to take into account the unique needs of each client Research shows that Oncology Massage can reduce symptoms such as pain, fatigue and stress/anxiety by up to 50 percent in some people. Oncology Massage is being increasingly embraced in Australia and is now available in some hospitals, with Oncology Massage therapists now employed at the Olivia Newton John Cancer and Wellness Centre at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne. My specialised Relaxation Massage is also based on this style of massage, and combined with mindfulness practice during the massage, leads to a complete mind/body relaxation experience. My other passion is Mindfulness Meditation, the benefits of which can be quite remarkable in reducing stress, pain and anxiety. Mindfulness Meditation instruction is available for groups, workplaces and individuals. I will be commencing a weekly Mindfulness Meditation Group. For expression of interest in these weekly meditation classes please call Lynne Morrison on 0407 329 680 or email lynnemorrison12@bigpond.com. health looking after yourself, inside and out professionals With a background in psychiatric nursing I bring to my massage and mindfulness practice a unique set of skills and life experience, possessing a greater understanding of the effects that life stress has on the mind/body. 75 Deakin Avenue, Mildura T 03 5023 0269 www.mildurahealthfund.com.au outstan di ngvalue Hospital Cover Victoria For beƩer cover, access and care, get on board with your local not-for-profit Mildura Health Fund SURGERY Dr. Daniel Tankard Dr Daniel Tankard has 24 years experience in the dental industry, and has a special interest in dental implants, dentures and endodontics.
