Mildura Police believe the motorcyclist – who is reportedly from Mildura – crashed into a sign post and came off his bike near a bend in the road opposite Mildura Airport, with the Sturt Highway near Ontario Avenue closed to traffic for two-and-half hours. The man died at the scene, with a passerby discovering the crash around 8.30am. The accident occurred on a 90km/h stretch of the highway, with police still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, including the time it occurred. • CRASH SITE: The wrecked motorcycle lies on its side in grass by the side of the Sturt Highway, adjacent to the Mildura Airport ABOVE, and LEFT, police inspect the motorbike.
